Our tutors are more than subject experts—they are psychologists, educators, learning specialists, and researchers who understand how students learn, not just what they need to learn. With deep backgrounds in school psychology, neuroscience, special education, and classroom teaching, our team is uniquely equipped to support executive functioning, build academic skills, and strengthen emotional confidence alongside intellectual growth.
We meet students where they are, bringing warmth, structure, and evidence-based strategies to every session so they can develop clarity, independence, and lasting confidence in their learning.

Dr. Sara Douglas, Psy.D., NCSP, is a licensed psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist based in New York City. She earned her master’s degree in school psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University, and her doctoral degree from St. John’s University, and has worked across diverse settings including public and private schools, treatment clinics, and hospitals.

Jalene Lipowitz is a New York State Certified English Language Arts teacher specializing in adolescent education. With a strong foundation in both the humanities and the arts, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Bachelor’s in Music from Binghamton University, as well as a Master’s degree in Adolescent English Education from Hunter College.

Dr. Tara Raines, Ph.D., brings a wealth of experience working with children and families to her role as a wellness coach and tutor. With a background that combines a tenured faculty position in academia and hands-on support for young people, she understands the unique challenges neurodiversity can present for children and their families.

Eleanor Robins is a graduate of Columbia University, where her coursework focused on Cognitive Neuroscience, Biology, and Chemistry. During her studies she completed a Social Impact Fellowship with the Obama Scholars Program and Columbia World Projects designing evidence-based psychiatric communication tools, and co-authored research published in The Lancet Psychiatry.
ELEANOR ROBBINS
Maddie Legro graduated from Bates College with a double major in Classical Studies, focusing on Latin and Greek translation, and Ethnomusicology, with a concentration in American folk traditions. For the past seven years, she has taught high school humanities at The Winchendon School NYC, an independent school built on a foundation of project-based learning and student-centered education.

Ms. Ting Bertner is a New York State Certified School Psychologist. Her educational background, including degrees in both Mathematics and Psychology from Binghamton University and a Master’s degree in School Psychology from Brooklyn College, allows her to bring a blend of analytical skills and empathy to her work.

Ms. Haley Brown is a graduate student in the School Psychology Program at Teachers College, Columbia University. Hailing from the Chicago suburbs, Haley received a degree in Psychology with Honors from Northwestern University and completed a minor in Human Communication Studies, allowing her to better understand how people think and express themselves.

Olivia Domansky graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology. She blends her background in both fields to create a warm, supportive tutoring environment that helps students strengthen their writing skills, executive functioning skills, and confidence.
